Description

As far back as the end of the 19th century a longer button-up jacket with secure pockets was an essential part of foul weather protection for those involved in logging, ranching, cattle driving where days on end were spent on horseback in some of the worst. The Cheyenne leather jacket takes it’s inspiration from the jackets more typically used in the 1930s.

The Cheyenne is a single breasted leather coat, similar to the Barnstormer. This however has no belt, which makes it easier to wear. The front has four pockets : two sloping hand warmer/ map pockets and two cargo pockets. This version has four hand sewn buttons. The sleeves have early American styled cuffs similar to 1940’s styling. The back is made from three pieces of leather: a straight yoke (7 1/2″!) deep, with two large sections top stitched at seams for a wonderful feature stitch finish.

This cheyenne jacket offers style, luxury and durability and of course warmth.

Sizing

This jacket is a 1950s inspired style which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the body which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era. Additionally, this jacket is designed to be worn as an overcoat.

The perceived ‘correct’ fit of the 1950s was generally more ‘oversized’ than modern sizing, so we typically recommend sizing down for a more modern fitted look, or you can opt for your usual size to achieve the intended ‘1950s’ very relaxed fit.

For further general sizing information, please see our sizing FAQ section. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for there, please get in touch.

Don’t worry, all sizing information displayed here is only a guide. Every order placed is checked over by a member of our production team who will confirm your size selection against your measurements or recommend any necessary changes that need to be made. If you have any specific queries, you can note these in the special instructions box on the ‘measurements’ page when placing your order.
